Give us feedback about a care service you have used

We believe involving people who use services in everything we do will help improve services for everyone.

If you or someone you care for has recently used a health or adult social care service, we would like to hear about your experiences. We would like to know where you think a service is providing good care, as well as examples of where care is poor.

Complaints or concerns

We cannot deal with individual complaints. Read our guidance on what to do if you are unhappy with the care you or a family member have received:

How we will use your feedback

The feedback you give us about your care services will be added to the information we hold about each service provider who needs to register with us. This will help us to:

  • spot problems or concerns in local services that we need to act upon
  • make decisions about whether a service should be registered with us
  • monitor on an ongoing basis whether care services continue to meet the essential standards of quality and safety
  • look at how commissioners of services (like primary care trusts) find out what services people need, and if money is being spent wisely to provide services in the local area
  • check what local councils tell us abut their own performance in their self-assessments in 2010.

Your feedback will also tell us what issues are important to you and what to look at more closely in our special reviews and studies.

So, while we cannot offer individual remedy or redress, we will listen to what you have to say and your information will be used to improve services for everyone.
